Mission Statment
My name is Virginia Ratcliff and I have a small business of 7 ultrasound sonographers. We diagnose chronic venous disease (CVD) and assist the physician in a procedure called Venefit or Clarivein. Venefit as well as Clarivein is a minimally invasive treatment option for varicose veins where traditionally it was vein stripping. Chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) affects more than 40 million people, and goes undiagnosed. The symptoms of CVD are varicose veins, cramping, swollen limbs, leg heaviness, fatigue, skin changes, and restless leg syndrome as well as leg ulcers. Conservative measures for this disease would be the use of compression stockings that provides relief but not a cure to the symptoms. I have been a sonographer for the past 15 years and involved in the diagnosing and treatment of CVD for the last 8 years. I believe that bringing awareness to the public and the possible treatment and relief of these symptoms is very important.
I have personally witnessed the relief of symptoms of CVD on many patients and how it changed their quality of life. My team and I are dedicated to educating the public on chronic venous insufficiency and on how easy it is to take care of in their doctors’ offices. I believe in years past there was no easy procedure to be offered to patients, so many doctors recommended that they wear compression stockings and that’s all. Now we embark on the “Rethink Varicose Vein campaign”, educating physicians as well as the public that varicose veins are only one of the many symptoms for CVD and in most case the cause of venous ulcerations.
If you would be interested in having us come to your office and bring this awareness to yourself, your staff and your patients.

Virginia Ratcliff
